The top three appliances to fail cause almost $700 million dollars of damage every year. And what are they? Well they are washing machine water heater in the number one culprit toilets.

I saw that the average claim for damage is $8,000. I think it is worth it to prevent a catastrophic water damage at that price. First battle is to discover the leak.

The simplest solution might be a battery operated water sensor, with a moisture sensor and an auditable alarm.
